Spring Recreation and Spring Travel:

With the success of last year's spring travel league, Mansfield will continue it again this year.   Mansfield will field one spring travel team at each age level (14U, 12U and 10U).    In order to allow girls to participate in other sports and not be overscheduled with softball,  players will not be required to play in both spring recreation and spring travel but can choose one or the other.

Spring recreation is a causal and fun environment for players of all abilities.    Teams are balanced and coaches try to balance playing time equally among all players.   All girls who register will be placed on a spring recreation team.   Games are played on weeknights (1 or 2 games per week) and practice is on the weekend.    No additional cost or fees are associated with spring recreation.

Spring Travel is a more competitive environment in which tryouts are held and players need to make a serious commitment to the team.   Games are played on weekends (usually Sundays) against other local towns and practices are on weeknights.    Spring Travel tryouts will be held in early April.  Anyone who does not make a spring travel team will automatically be placed on a spring recreation team.   In addition to the registration fee listed above spring travel players will have additional costs including a tournament fee and uniform costs.

Please note that in order to be eligible for the summer teams, players needed to participate in either the spring recreation program, the spring travel program or play for a high school team.

The spring season for both the travel and recreation programs will begin in mid April and end by June 15th.  Details of each division can be found on our Spring page.
