Division
Descriptions |
| 6U |
The 6U Division will
focus on basic skills and instruction. The girls will
play on Sundays for one and a half hours which will combine
drills and scrimmages. The main goal is to develop a
very basic understanding of the game while having fun and
making sure everyone participates equally and builds
confidence. |
| 8U |
The 8U Division will
build upon the basic skills developed at the 6U level and
will play and practice at a more competitive level.
Teams will play one game and conduct one practice per
week. The games will include three out innings and
scores will be kept. The focus will be on teaching the
basics of hitting, fielding and base running. As the
season progresses, girls will be encouraged to pitch to
batters with the assistance of coaches. |
| 10U |
The 10U Division will be
a competitive softball environment and more rules will be
introduced. Teams will play approximately two games
per week and practice once a week. Umpires will be
used and girls will pitch without any assistance from the
coaches. In addition, teams will play against
surrounding towns, standings will be maintained and the
season will end with playoffs and a championship game. |
| 12U & 14U |
The 12U and 14U
Divisions will increase the competitive nature from the 10U
division and will continue to introduce more rules.
Teams will play approximately two games per week and
practice once a week. Umpires will be used and teams
will play against surrounding towns. Like the 10U
division, standings will be maintained and the season will
end with playoffs and a championship game. |
